Intensive Employment Training
Intensive Employment Training attempts to transform the individual's underlying behaviors that may be the cause of difficulties in achieving successful employment. These behaviors could include inadequate social or cognitive skills or lack of personal marketing skills. The I.E.T. program matches the skills of the individual with various employment options, and teaches competencies needed to retain employment.
We have experienced tremendous success with this program. This approach combines classroom instruction and community based work trials followed by individualized job development to match each participant with an employer. Job coaching and follow-along supports may be available for up to one year after employment to ensure the success of each individual.
DEAF SERVICES
In keeping with the mission of assisting under-served populations, PDG began providing supported employment and Intensive Employment Training services to Deaf consumers in 2009. Our job coaches and IET instructors are fluent in American Sign Language, and knowledgeable in Deaf culture. PDG's services assist Deaf consumers in finding employment based on their individualized goals and skills, and help Deaf consumers gain the competencies needed to acquire and maintain employment.
