Every year, PDG throws a huge Crab Feast for our community. In 2019, we celebrated our 8th year in a row hosting this delicious summer fundraiser. This successful annual event always had great attendance and included fun activities, like dancing to a live DJ, face painting, and cornhole. 

As we all know, life pretty much stopped in 2020. Fun, community events like our Crab Feast had to be canceled, leaving nonprofits like PDG struggling to find the resources to fund their programs and services. We truly thank the sponsors and participants in last year’s virtual Turkey Trot, which helped us bridge some of that gap and explore new virtual opportunities. While we explored new event formats, though, we still missed seeing our community and – of course – eating some Maryland blue crabs!

The Crabs Are Back!

We’re SO excited to share that PDG is hosting a crab event again this summer! To keep it safe for everyone, we’ve made it a drive-through Crab & Go. The one (or more!) dozen crabs you order in advance are freshly steamed on-site for you, so you get the best, biggest, and baddest crabs around. You can also pick up rolls of paper, crab mallets, and more! 

BUT WAIT – THERE’S MORE! We’re also thrilled to bring some summer fun back to our PDG family. We’ll have several raffles and carnival games set up so you can still enjoy some socially-distanced shenanigans – including, of course, the famous Bucket o’ Cheer! 

Fundraising in Earnest

Each ticket to the event gets you 1 dozen steamed crabs with easy, drive-through pickup at your preferred time. We’ll also offer those fun carnival games for a cash donation on the day of the event. This event is also accepting sponsors from the local community.

Together, this fundraising will support our nonprofit, PDG Rehabilitation Services, Inc. We use all proceeds directly for consumer services and support. Our organization is 100% dedicated to helping those with mental illness find the healthcare, resources, and life supports they need to be happy, healthy members of society.
