Year in Review: 2023

The last 12 months at PDG have seen ongoing service delivery improvements, incredible consumer trips and activities, staff fun times, and active fundraising. Here’s the recap:

Platinum MHA Bell Seal Award

For the first time, PDG was awarded the esteemed Bell Seal Award at the highest level of Platinum. This award is presented by Mental Health America, one of the country’s leading behavioral and mental health organizations. This award elevates and celebrates organizations liked PDG that take a proactive approach to mental health in the workplace, curating a working environment that supports mental health and promotes positive experiences.

Greenspace Partnership

In 2023, PDG launched its partnership with Greenspace, a new treatment modality that promises effective results across behavioral healthcare needs. Greenspace uses measurement-based care, which involves tracking client progress throughout treatment, using consistent Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMS). It provides an avenue for clinicians and their clients to regularly check in with each other, reflect on objective symptom change data together, and uncover insights or patterns that can inform treatment decisions. Already, we’ve noted significant self-reported improvements in measures regarding depression and anxiety as a result of this program. The coming year’s results will be very informative!

Staff Events: The Peepening, Mac n Cheese Contest, Pride Lunch

The past year saw an array of first-time events and a return of some PDG classics.

Internally, we returned to our first quarter health and weight loss challenges, featuring anonymized competitors like The Slimsons and Dump my Rump. Then in the spring, it was a return of The Peepening, a Peep diorama contest that never fails to delight.

Over the summer we also saw new events like the Pride Lunch and mac ‘n’ cheese contest. Finally, we wrapped up a great year with our annual holiday party, featuring holiday games and our annual cookie contest.

We love our staff and the great environment they create as we provide dedicated behavioral health services to our community. PDG definitely couldn’t do it without our great team!

Step Into Wellness 3rd Annual Run/Walk fundraiser

This year we repeated our virtual run/walk fundraiser, which began in 2020 when we couldn’t hold our usual fundraisers in person. This year saw more great turnout from families, kids, and furry friends! Thanks to everyone who helped organize it and participated.

2023 Crab Feast

The PDG team was overjoyed to return to our classic, annual crab feast fundraiser, held every year at Kurtz’s Beach. The weather couldn’t have been better and we enjoyed seeing our sponsors, partners, staff, and greater community members. This year we expanded our prize baskets to include an entire silent auction with incredible goodies and we were able to raise thousands for our nonprofit, PDG Rehabilitation Services.

Thank you to everyone who came out, donated a basket, sponsored, and volunteered!

In-person Thanksgiving Event

PDG was thrilled to return to our in-person annual Thanksgiving consumer meal. This year the meal was catered by Mission BBQ, with homemade desserts baked by our PDG staff. Consumers and staff alike were so happy to come together for this special event, which joined other special seasonal trips like a visit to an orchard and a consumer talent show. Thank you to everyone who drove, served, attended, and enjoyed this event with the PDG family.

Thank you again to everyone in the PDG community who came together in 2023 to make our events fun, exciting, and productive. Here’s to another great year of client services, team development, and community fundraising!
