Year in Review: 2021

2021: A Look Back

Despite the ongoing pandemic-related challenges, PDG saw another successful year in 2021. We served hundreds of consumers and established new traditions for staff and consumers alike.

From crab drive-throughs to golden gobblers, we couldn’t have done it without you. Let’s take a look…

Staff Appreciation

  • PDG has always highly valued our amazing team members, so leadership was happy to continue providing flexibility and support for our remote workers – including fun virtual activities like Paint & Sip, Secret Snowman, Halloween costume party, holiday party, and much more.
  • This year we welcomed two new additions to the management team: Kirsty Wheelton and Julia Perini. Already these two ladies are making big waves in their departments! We’re so glad to have you!
  • PDG knows that higher costs of living affect everyone. In 2021, PDG increased starting pay rates and provided raises across the board to ensure our truly amazing staff have pay that reflects higher costs of living.
  • Next, PDG continued its student loan repayment program, helping our staff break free of their debt as soon as possible and making 2022 a better year for everyone!

Community Events

  • We just couldn’t go another year without crabs, so we decided to keep it safe and fun with an interactive drive-through Crab & Go! Our Millersville office lawn was filled with fun games and a local supplier steamed crabs on-site for a savory crab pickup.

  • For the 2nd year in a row, local restaurant group Duck Duck Goose (Alfred Restaurant Group) donated pre-packaged gourmet Thanksgiving meals to our consumers.
  • We also trotted our way to the 2nd Annual Virtual Turkey Trot this year, with dozens of runners, walkers, and trotters participating from all over the country.

PDG Therapeutics & DBT

  • Our PDG therapy program has continued to grow with more clinicians and clients served than ever before.
  • This year, the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program also launched! This proven-effective program is designed to help adolescents and young adults resolve behavioral challenges. We’re so excited to add this resource to the PDG portfolio!

New Partnerships

  • PDG and Johns Hopkins teamed up this year on the ACHIEVE-D trial program, which focuses on healthy lifestyle behaviors and weight loss. Collaborations like this lead to new research and future service improvements for the mental health community!
  • PDG also represented Maryland community behavioral health by presenting at the Rehabilitation and Community Providers Association (RCPA).

As always, PDG continues to provide critically-needed behavioral health services to Maryland communities, including in-person forensic services to our local detention centers. Despite the tremendously challenging circumstances of the past couple years, we’re dedicated to helping those vulnerable populations in Maryland who need it most. Thank you all for continuing to make this possible.

Here’s to 2022!
